The SEG Summer Research Workshop will include a comprehensive review and exchange on what is possible today by using sensors inside boreholes. Borehole Geophysics has been associated for years with zero-offset VSP and time-depth calibration. In recent years, this discipline has immensely evolved toward more advanced applications for field development and monitoring or production optimization as well as exploration purposes.
This workshop will cover drilling applications, salt challenge applications, imaging in complex areas, reservoir engineering and monitoring applications (like, but not limited to, Carbon Capture Usage and Storage, EOR, reservoir and caprock integrity, production enhancement). Other topics cover non-conventional, multicomponent or time-lapse recording, borehole microseismic or borehole non-seismic methods.
